Though she hated herself for doing it, she’d watched Sam’s reaction to Sally. Abby doubted Sam would be able to pick her out of a crowd. He’d paid very little attention to her despite her perfectly toned body.
She wondered if Jack had met the lovely Sally.
“Now, see, I can feel your anxiety from the other room, gorgeous.” Sam came up behind her, and his hands curled around her shoulders.
She looked at the two of them in the full-length mirror. Sam was wearing jeans and a tight white T-shirt that molded to his every muscle. He had a boy-next-door sexiness about him that always got to her. Like Jack, he was five years younger than she was. He hadn’t even reached his prime, while she was on the other side of hers. It was one of the dirty tricks Mother Nature played on the female of the species. Men got more attractive as they approached forty and women merely got older.
“Do I even want to know what you’re thinking?” Sam let his hands find her curves.
His mouth came down on her shoulder, dropping soft kisses across her skin. Everywhere his mouth touched, she felt the skin come to life.
“Probably not.” He wouldn’t understand. She didn’t want to bring him down with her insecurities.
“Abigail,” Sam said, his voice going hard. “Lean forward and press your hands against the mirror. Spread your legs.”
Abby looked at him. She wasn’t offended by the change, merely curious. “What are you playing at, Sam?”
He stepped back and gave her a dark look. His arms crossed his chest, and his sensual mouth became a flat line. “I’m playing at being your Dom, and if you can’t obey me, we won’t be in that club tonight. If you can’t give me the same respect you give Jack, we might as well change our plans and have dinner in town and find a movie to watch. It isn’t safe for you to go in there without protection.”
He was right about that. She leaned forward, pressing her hands against the cool glass of the mirror. Her curiosity about The Club grew every time Sam mentioned it. She figured she should be discouraged at Sam’s words, but she just found herself more intrigued. She spread her legs wide. She knew what Sam wanted. It was something Jack enjoyed. Or used to, Abby thought, then let it drift out of her mind. She concentrated on finding her balance in the five-inch Jimmy Choos Sam had insisted she wear out of the store.
“That’s more like it.” Sam’s hands stroked along her thighs. “I like this, baby. I love how these shoes make your legs look a million miles long.” He gently snapped the back of her thong. “And I love this tiny piece of string between the cheeks of your hot little ass. It looks incredibly sexy on you.”
He leaned over and placed a kiss on the small of her back. Because he was Sam, he couldn’t leave it there. His tongue came out and traced a line almost to the top of her ass where her cheeks met.
She sighed as she felt the sweet stirrings of arousal. Her pussy was already soft and ripe. This was exactly what she needed. She needed Sam. She moaned and pushed back against his hand when it cupped her pussy. She stirred against him, wanting his fingers in her cunt. A sudden thought split through her growing need.
“Someone will be delivering those packages soon, Sam.” They’d gone a little crazy and bought far too much to cart back on the motorcycle. The stores hadn’t minded shipping everything to Julian Lodge’s building.
He got down on his knees in between her legs. Now she understood why he was so insistent on the shoes. She was petite, but the shoes put her at the perfect height for his mouth to reach her pussy.
“No, they won’t.” Sam breathed the words, and she could feel the heat of his mouth through the scrap of silk she wore. He ran his tongue over the silk. “I put a sign on the door. Trust me, baby, that sign means something here. No one’s going to disturb us.” He slid his hands under the sides of the thong. “This is pretty, but it’s getting in my way. It’s time to take the wrapping off my dessert.”
She obediently let him drag the undies off. Sam pressed his nose right into her labia. He breathed in deeply. Abby knew he loved her scent. Sam was an incredibly tactile lover. He used his thumbs to part her folds. She watched him from above. He reveled in the cream he found dripping from her pussy.
“I love how wet you get,” he muttered before leaning in for his first taste of the day.
She groaned as his incredibly talented tongue swiped across her pussy. Her clit was already begging for his attention. She could feel it pulsing with need.
Sam teased her. His tongue laved gently while his thumb barely penetrated her. He set a steady, maddening rhythm that had her panting but kept her right on the edge. Just a single inch in and then out again with his thumb. His tongue whirled tantalizingly but as soft as a whisper. It felt exquisite, but it wasn’t anywhere close to enough.
“Do you want to come, baby?” Sam’s deep drawl hummed along her flesh.
“Yes. Oh, please.” She moaned as his thumb began to thrust firmly into her channel.
She pushed down against him. It was something Jack would punish her for, but Sam ignored. He got too involved in the sex. He got lost in the feeling and forgot to remain in control of the encounter. Sam’s tongue lashed against her clit. Abby pressed against the sensation, riding his tongue. Again, it was something Jack would have spanked her for. By this point, Jack would have her tied down so she couldn’t disobey again. Well, that’s what the old Jack would have done.
Sam sucked her clit into his mouth while he fucked her with his fingers. She felt her womb clench, and the orgasm rolled over her like a warm wave. Sam pulled his fingers out and his face came up, catching her eyes and connecting them. She knew what he would do next. He slowly, lovingly licked his fingers clean.
“I love the way you taste.” Sam’s blue eyes were filled with anticipation as he got to his feet. He placed himself between her and the mirror. Big hands cupped her face and his sensual lips covered hers in a lingering kiss. She could taste her orgasm on his tongue. His hands found the front closure on the bra he’d insisted she buy, and suddenly it hit the floor. He cupped her breasts and tugged on her nipples.
“It’s my turn, baby,” he growled. “Get on your knees.”
He was trying, but he didn’t have Jack’s authority. Still, she obediently got to her knees, the marble cool on her skin. Sam was always impatient. He already had his jeans and boxers around his knees, and his big dick was in his hand. It was a gorgeous cock, large and perfectly shaped, from the bulbous head all the way to his tight balls. She leaned over and swiped it with her tongue, gathering the fluid already seeping from the head and eagerly drinking it down.
“What do you want me to do?” Maybe he needed her to lead him along. He should be barking orders. He should be directing her.
His smile was bright, not dark and dangerous. “Get me hard enough to fuck you, baby.”
She sighed. He was already hard enough to pound nails. He was never going to successfully play the Dom. Maybe he could pass, but not if anyone looked closely. Sam was a happy-go-lucky guy. He was light where Jack was dark. Abby ran her tongue from the base of his cock to the head. She might miss Jack’s dominance, but she knew she was damn lucky to have Sam for a lover.
“Baby, suck harder, please,” he practically begged.
Abby sucked him deep, taking him into the back of her throat. She pulled back, giving up on the teaching portion of this sexual episode. The truth of the matter was she didn’t want Sam to be Jack. She loved him the way he was. Her head fell back, taking in Sam in all his glory. “I believe you said something about fucking me.”
“I did, indeed,” Sam replied with a breathtaking smile. He kicked off his pants and pulled his T-shirt over his head, tossing it to the sink. He hauled her up and into his arms.
She felt delicate and feminine as he carried her through the suite. This was exactly what she needed to feel good. It was hard to worry about age or sagging boobs when a gorgeous hunk of man would do almost anything to fuck you.
He tossed her on the king-sized bed and was on he
r before she could breathe. He spread her legs wide, making a place for himself. His hard cock was inside her in one powerful thrust.
“Oh, baby, you feel so fucking good.” Sam started pounding into her. He kept her legs far apart, leaving her completely open to him. “Next time we go shopping, I’m going to take you into the dressing room and fuck you from behind. I won’t give a damn if they hear us, either.”
He probably didn’t care if the neighbors heard them right now. Any thoughts of neighborly politeness flew out of her head as he hit that perfect spot. He filled her up and made her glow. The headboard of the bed was banging against the wall with the force of his thrusts. She felt everything in her tighten and release as Sam slammed into her, hitting her G-spot with his dick as he dragged his pelvis over her clitoris. Abby moaned, the sound coming from deep inside. A second after she came, Sam followed. His hoarse shout filled the room as his semen poured into her body.

Jack tried his wife’s cell phone again. It went directly to voice mail. He cursed out loud and slapped at the wall of his hotel room. He’d tried Sam’s phone three times already. They were pissed off, and he couldn’t blame them. He shouldn’t have left a note. He should have explained the situation to them in person. He knew why he hadn’t done that. There was no way Abigail and Sam would have let him come here to deal with this alone. He didn’t want either of them involved with his biological family. He wanted the Camerons to stay far away from the family he’d made with Abigail and Sam.
With a long sigh, he opened the curtains and looked out over the city. Night was starting to fall, and the city below was lighting up. If Abigail and Sam were here, they would be getting ready for dinner. She would slip into a sexy dress. Sam would hamper her every move. He would try to get his hands on her even while she tried to cover up. Jack would finally have to order Sam to leave their wife alone or they’d miss their reservation time.
He loved watching them play. Jack watched the lights come on, illuminating the street beneath him. He let his forehead touch the glass. He knew he was stuck, but he wasn’t sure how to get out of it. When he closed his eyes, he still saw that gun pointing straight at her head. He saw it in slow motion over and over again. He saw Ruby Echols hold that gun up and knew it was about to take Abigail from him. He dreamed about it almost every night, though sometimes it was Sam instead of their wife who was in the line of fire. In his dreams, he failed and they died. He was left alone, and that was the worst nightmare of all. He was such a selfish bastard. He was lucky they put up with him at all.
Jack took a deep breath and tried to banish his dark thoughts. He had a sudden idea. He dialed the number to home.
“Barnes-Fleetwood residence.” Benita’s voice was brisk and professional.
“Benita, it’s Jack,” he replied. “Do you know where Abigail and Sam have gotten off to? I’ve tried for the last several hours, but I can’t seem to get either of them to answer their cell phones.”
“I only know that they left a note. It seems to be the theme of the day, Mr. Barnes.”
He heard the accusation in her voice and winced. Benita had been with them a long time. She considered herself a motherly figure. “What did the note say?”
“Which one?”
Jack couldn’t help but laugh a bit. She was also a little saucy. “The one I didn’t write, Benita.”
“All right. It was from Mrs. Barnes. It says she and Mr. Fleetwood are going to be gone for a while. They seem to have some shopping to do.”
That explained it. They had driven into Tyler for the day. It was the closest city of any size to Willow Fork, and it had a shopping mall. They were probably seeing a movie or something. That explained why they didn’t answer their phones. It was a bit of revenge on him for walking out the way he had. He didn’t begrudge them.
“Thank you, Benita. Just let them know I called.” He hung up with his housekeeper and rolled his eyes as the wall of his room started to shake. They were at it again. He swore the people in the suite next door were trying to set a world record for fucking. The man in the room next door might be fooling himself about his dominant nature, but he certainly had stamina.
A knock on the door brought him out of his thoughts. He opened it and was handed a suit on a heavy hanger, wrapped in pristine plastic.
“Mr. Lodge requests that you wear this when you join him in the private dining room. It’s a forty-two long, sir,” said the bellhop, who probably also served as a bartender. “It’s Hugo Boss.”
Jack pulled a twenty out of his wallet to tip him. “Umm, great.”
He closed the door. He could have all the money in the world, but he was never going to know suit designers. His obstinate refusal to join the world of the label lovers had always bugged Julian. He didn’t need some men’s magazine declaring his wardrobe was first rate to enjoy his life. He liked his Levis and cared way more about how a pair of boots fit than the name on the label.
Did Abigail feel the same way? He thought about the outlandish amount of shoes and clothes the woman next door had bought. He hadn’t bought his wife anything since he purchased her wedding ring. Women liked gifts. Maybe he should have Julian’s sub pick out something pretty and expensive for her. She could pick up something for Sam while she was at it.
He shrugged out of his clothes while he thought about the problems with that scenario. Sally the sub would probably ask all sorts of questions like what size Abigail wore. He doubted that his professional assessment of “she’s hot with an amazing rack and an ass I love to fuck” would give Sally a fair starting point. He made a mental note to find out Abigail’s size. He would write it on a note and keep it in his wallet.
The mental picture of a small diamond choker around Abby’s throat made Jack stop in his tracks. It would sit around her throat, a gleaming collar for his queen, a reminder that she belonged to him.
He walked to the phone.
“Yeah, this is Barnes in 1502. I need a personal shopper. Yes, I’ll be up here.”
He finished getting dressed. He could tell the shopper exactly what he wanted, a diamond choker for his Abby and a new watch for Sam.
Maybe it would make up for that note.
Chapter Five
“You sure you don’t want to go out?” Sam looked down at his wife. She was soft and cuddled up next to him. Her smooth legs slid down his as she snuggled against him. He loved lying in bed with her. The elegant bedroom of their suite at The Club was the perfect place to show Abby how much she meant to him. It was hard to believe it had only been a few hours since they decided to take this little adventure. He’d prefer to stay in bed all weekend, but he wanted to please her, too. “We can go anywhere you want.”
She shook her head. “I like it here. It’s comfy.” Her head was on his chest. He stroked her hair, enjoying the feel of it in his hands. “Do you think Jack’s here?”
Sam went still. He knew Jack was here. He’d asked the valet, who confirmed he’d parked Jack’s truck sometime after noon. “Yes.”
Damn, he didn’t want to ruin the moment. It might be the last nice one they had for a while. Once he showed his face downstairs there would be no stopping the gossip. It was possible the few people they had dealt with might not realize who he was and his connection with Jack Barnes. In the bar, there would be no such chance. Someone would ask Jack what Sam was doing here and then the real fireworks would start.
Then he would know where he stood. Then he would know if they were done.
Abby sighed. “Where do you think he’s staying? Do you think he’s in one of the other rooms? I wonder if he’ll be down in the club. Do you think…?”
He knew where she was going. “No, Abby. I find it difficult to believe that he’s going to be down in the dungeon trolling for a date. I don’t know why he’s here, but it’s not for cheap sex. Relax. We’ll be in serious trouble soon enough. Now, where do you want to go for dinner? I’m starving. I don’t want to face my inevitable execution on an empty stomach.

“I would never let that happen, but I don’t want to go out. The motorcycle is fun and all, but I think it would be hard to get dressed up and do my hair only to have it ruined by the helmet. Besides, I already called and ordered room service while you were in the bathroom.” Her lips curled up sweetly.
“Damn it, Abby,” he complained. He didn’t move, though. She felt too good against him. “I do not need another salad. I’ve been making love to you for hours. I need man food. I need working-man food. You know how many calories I had to burn to perform like that?”
She seemed completely unmoved. She was a sexy little kitten pressed against him. “Well, I can’t have you passing out from a lack of man-food. I ordered you a medium-rare hunk of cow flesh, a mountain of mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. Feel free to avoid the broccoli, if you must. I also got you some bread pudding.”
He gazed down at her suspiciously. “And for yourself?”
She shrugged against him. “I got a salad. I’m not that hungry.”
He slapped her ass. “Abigail Barnes. This is ridiculous.” He flipped her over and held her down with his weight. She didn’t struggle at all. She simply stared up at him with those big hazel eyes. “How many times do I have to fuck you before you realize how much I love your body?”
There was a sharp knock at the door and Sam knew she’d been saved. He slapped her ass again and gave it a soft squeeze. “Don’t think this discussion of ours is over. I won’t have you turning into some skinny thing. Get dressed, baby. Dinner’s here.”
He rolled out of bed and slid into his jeans. He fished for a tip as he opened the door to let the room-service waiter in.
“Hello, Samuel,” a deep, nearly hypnotic voice said.
“Julian.” Sam had to stop himself from looking down. It was an almost conditioned response. He wasn’t an alpha male. Years in a youth home had taught him that. He could handle himself in a fight. Hell, he’d started more than he cared to admit. But there was something about those deep, dark voices that Julian and Jack possessed that sent his whole soul into submission. There was no place for that now. Now he had to think about Abby and that meant standing up to his old boss. He stood up, forcing himself to look Julian straight in the eye. He fought to keep his voice even. “Hello, Julian. How have you been doing?”
